Our Compounding Services
What is Compounding?
Compounding provides an innovative way for pharmacists to customize medications to fit the needs of their patients. The art of compounding utilizes modern medicine while still holding true to the roots of the profession of pharmacy.
Compounding pharmacies can produce unique dosage forms based on patient preferences and/or restrictions. Examples include dye-free, preservative-free, alcohol-free, and/or sugar-free forms of medications. Many compounds are specialized medication combinations or compounded in other forms that are not otherwise commercially available.
Your pharmacist is trained in compounding a wide variety of ointments, gels, syrups, suspensions, suppositories, capsules and other formulations that can make medications easier to take, address any special health problems, or just simply get you feeling better, faster.
Compounded medications are generally safe and effective for most patients who have talked to their doctor about their health and how a compounded medication can help them.
Medications are compounded and dispensed to patients only upon receipt of a valid patient-specific prescription.
Compounding requires a relationship between the patient, physician, and pharmacist. Together, they will work together to provide an alternative treatment option when and if the currently available treatment options are not the best fit for you.
We specialize in medications that treat both chronic and neuropathic pain. When formulating compounds to treat chronic pain, we work with your doctor to tritrate the doses to meet your body’s needs. We also compound medications that are long lasting and those that are for breakthrough pain only. We specialize in making formulations that avoid the use of acetaminophen, which can lead to liver toxicity. For treating neuropathic pain, there are many available alternative dosing regimens so that all medications compounded are specific to your body’s needs.

Pregnancy should be a wonderful experience for women, but sometimes it becomes difficult. Early in the pregnancy, the uterus must possess a certain thickness so that the embryo can attach itself to the lining. Some women are not able to keep this thickness throughout the first few weeks of pregnancy, and they lose their baby. Progesterone can be used to keep the endometrium of the uterus thick so that the embryo will stay attached to the uterus. We compound progesterone into several different forms such as:
- Vaginal Suppositories
- Topical Gels
Are you having trouble keeping down your nausea and vomiting medications? During pregnancy, one of the most common related ailments is nausea and vomiting. We formulate Promethazine, one of the most commonly prescribed tablets for nausea and vomiting, into a topical gel that may be absorbed through the skin on the wrists or stomach so that the medication will not be lost if vomiting occurs.
Menopause is a crucial time when related to women’s health. Every woman must decide what Hormone Replacement Therapy to use. She must also consider preventing osteoporosis and heart disease. One of the most popular questions in women’s health right now is “What is natural hormone replacement therapy?” Typically natural HRT is hormones that are compounded specifically from raw chemicals identical to those that are made in your body. We will work with you and your doctor to find the exact formulation that your body needs by following symptoms related to menopause. Many people today believe that hormone replacement therapy is solely for women. This is not true.
